Dr. Bryan Alexander
Higher Education and the AI Revolution
Higher education is in the early days of the artificial intelligence revolution. As rapidly developing forms of automation sweep the world, academics are grappling with the new technologies and their emerging uses. In this presentation we begin by exploring the state of the AI art, outlining the real world uses across colleges and universities. Next we assess how the situation might change over the next several years, examining new pedagogies, curricular implications, and strategic choices facing our institutions
Dr. Bryan Alexander is a senior scholar at Georgetown University, in the Learning, Design and Technology program. An internationally known futurist, researcher, writer, speaker, consultant, and teacher, he works in the field of higher education’s future.
Having previously worked with the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE), a non-profit working to help small colleges and universities best integrate digital technologies, Bryan now has his own business, Bryan Alexander Consulting, LLC (BAC). Through BAC, he consults throughout higher education in the United States and abroad.
His written works include Academia Next: The Futures of Higher Education and Universities on Fire: Higher Education in the Age of Climate Crisis.
